2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteosness of God.
Isaiah 53:10
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
This is something that I don't think I'll ever fully understand. That is was for our sake that God the Father crushed his own Son. Isaiah 53 is so detailed in the description of what suffering and pain Christ endured for us on the Cross, it's impossible to understand a Father loving sinful people like us enough to put his Son through that. After finishing The Cross Centered Life I'm understanding that the gospel is something that I'm never going to move on from.
