Hangin' with the Puritans & T4G

Rich, Nate and I returned from T4G last night. As we continue to digest what all was said and its implications on all of our lives we will do our best to stay faithful to this blog in keeping everyone updated. We're all going to blog on the individual session and what we got from them.

Although the book giveaway was more than any of of us could have imagined, all us still bought books.... the bookstore reminded me of what I felt like when going to Toys 'r' us when I was a kid. It was awesome. One of the books like I was really excited about was Voices from the Past, which is a Puritan devotional book. So far I haven't been let down.

"The sweetest experiences of God's saints are when they are alone with him. Without seeking God often, the vitality of the soul is lost. We may as well expect a crop and harvest without sowing, as living grace without seeking God [...] Omit secret prayer, and some great sin will follow. A man who is often with God, does not dare offend him so freely as other do."
Thomas Manton
Works

"Do not say you have royal blood running through your veins, and you are born of God, except you can prove your pedigree by this heroic spirit; to dare to be holy in spite of men and devils.
William Gurnall
